a naturalistic approach to compassionate applied behavior analysis (ABA), designed for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, in partnership with their families
NNC (The Nurture Nature Connection) was created to build the bridge between you, your child, and your community. We use compassionate ABA to teach safety for your child and others, as well as social, self-care, and communication skills, so that children on the autism spectrum can connect with their world.
At the Nurture Nature Connection (NNC), our goal is to nurture your child’s growth, support their natural strengths, and create motivation to learn. NNC specializes in working with children on the autism spectrum within their natural environment.
We incorporate necessary skills into age and developmentally appropriate activities. We teach new skills, while decreasing behaviors that may interfere with learning and social engagement.
Being on the autism spectrum does not have to be a barrier to living life to it’s fullest. As a parent, having a child on the autism spectrum does not have to be a place of isolation. We’ll work together as a team to equip your child with the tools they need for success, while connecting you with a supportive network within your community.
Through consistency, partnering with parents, and motivational learning strategies, we will take steps with you and your child, to reach goals that align with your values as a family. NNC recognizes that children on the autism spectrum do not always know how to self-regulate or calm down during situations that are stressful to them. We want to come alongside you and your child to develop self-regulating strategies that are helpful at home and the community in which you live.
Professionals on your child’s team will use reinforcement and motivation to increase skills, because these methods are proven to be effective.
Skill sets taught are designed to improve your child’s ability to navigate the world, because your child should not feel the need to mask their identity as an autistic individual. Rather, your child deserves the freedom to express their individuality, within safe boundaries, that foster social connections and learning.
We advocate for an environment that allows for authenticity. While your child may have the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, we do not believe the diagnosis should prevent your child from being the person they were designed to be.
“Teach the autistic person that you know them, you see them, you hear them, and you are there for them. This is the first and crucial step in today’s ABA”
